Some stakeholders in the education sector are disappointed at reports of bullying at David Kaunda National Technical Secondary School.

The stakeholders said the reports are disappointing and worrying.

They are calling for the revision of the school curriculum to include attitude among the subjects to be taught in schools.

Some of the institutions that expressed disappointment at acts of bullying at the school are the Basic Education Teacher’s Union of Zambia-BETUZ, Zambia National Congress of Trade Union – ZNUT, and the Great North Road group of companies.

Meanwhile Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA has directed schools to institute stern action against pupils involved in bullying others.

Mr. SYAKALIMA says government will NOT tolerate bullying to thrive in schools.

This follows an increase in the cases of bullying at David Kaunda STEM School which has seen some boys entering girls’ hostels.
