Nominated member of Parliament Raphael Nakachinda has presented the draft Constitution bill number 10 of 2019 to the Barotse royal establishment for further consultation before Parliament resumes sitting next month.
Speaking when he presented the bill to senior chief Nyambo Yeta at his palace in Mwandi of sesheke District, Mr Nakachinda says the bill is meant to benefit the country and not an individual.
Mr Nakachinda said it is unfortunate that some politician have twisted information on bill 10 for political expediency.
He said those who are opposed to the bill have a hidden agenda and do not mean well to the country.
Mr. Nakachinda who was the Chairperson of the Parliamentary select committee which was appointed to scrutinize Constitution Amendment bill number 10 said traditional leader’s have a key role to play in the amendment of the consitition bill number 10 of 2019.
Meanwhile, acting senior chief Nyambo Yeta Liyashimba Sitowoha said the bill represents the will of the people and must be supported by all.
He further urged MPs to support the Constitutional Amendment Bill number ten of 2019 because as it will protect the will of all Zambians and the chiefs inclusive.
Chief Liyashimba said the Barotse royal establishment remain committed to support the government of the day in it’s quest to develop the country.
