Presidential Advisor on Economic, Investment and Developmental Affairs JITO KAYUMBA has advised Beit Cure Children’s Hospital Zambia to take advantage of the Constituency Development Fund-CDF- to help cover logistical costs for patients in specific Constitencies.
Mr. KAYUMBA says for patients who come to Lusaka from far flung areas and can not afford the referral cost , the CDF health component can be used to help cover the cost.
Mr. KAYUMBA was speaking when he toured Beit Cure Children’s Hospital on invitation to appreciate the work they do.
He is impressed with the quality of health care services being offered to children at no cost.
Meanwhile, Beit Cure Children’s Hospital Zambia Executive Director FRIDA KABASO appealed to the Corporate world to come on board and help meet the cost for the over 3- thousand surgeries for children annually.
Ms. KABASO said the hospital is also expanding from 45 bed capacity to sixty.
She said the hospital receives a grant from the government, gets support from local Companies and has funding from international partners but needs to enhance local financing to continue providing the surgeries.
