barbra-banda-leads-strong-squad-named-for-morocco-friendlies

Copper Queens coach Bruce Mwape has named a strong squad for the back-to-back friendlies against Morocco set for 22 and 26 September, 2023 in Rabat.

Captain Barbra Banda leads the squad announced by Mwape for the two matches alongside Rachel Kundananji and Ireen Lungu.

Mwape has also handed call ups to youngsters Agness Phiri and Salome Phiri both of Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club.

Goalkeeper Loveness Tonge has also been included in the provisional list. Zanaco Ladies defender Thelma Cheela has been handed her first national team call up.

Surprisingly Agnes Musesa who partnered Lushomo Mweemba at the World Cup has been left out. Winger Xiomara Mapepa also misses out.

Another omission is that of Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club in-form forward Maylan Mulenga.

The technical bench will use the friendlies to prepare for the 2023 COSAFA Womens Championship that will run from 4 October 15 October in South Africa.
