The body of late Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya Brenda Muntemba has been brought in the country.

The plane carrying the remains of Ms Muntemba touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 10 hours aboard a Kenyan airways plane.

Several government officials were present to witness the arrival.

Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Dora Siliya, Lands Minister Jean Kapata, Higher Education Minister Nkandu Luo, National Guidance and Religious Affairs Godfridah Sumaili were among prominent figures who witnessed the arrival of Ms Munetmba’s body.

Ms Mutemba was on February 22nd, 2019 involved in a road accident in Kenya.

She was evacuated to Nairobi hospital where she died.

Before her appointment in the diplomatic service, Ms Muntemba served as Zambia Police Service spokesperson, Southern Province Police Commissioner and Chief Program Officer at UNESCO in Zambia.

Ms Muntemba will be buried in Lusaka tomorrow.

The government has accorded Ms Muntemba’s a state funeral and a day of national mourning will be observed in her honour.
