At least 136 people have been apprehended in Mumbwa District in connection with the riots which happened on Wednesday resulting in the death of two business men.
Central Province Police Commissioner ROY KASHIMBI has confirmed this to ZNBC News.
Mr. KASHIMBI says police have also recovered assorted property that was looted.
This was when Central Province Minister CREDO NANJUWA visited the area to check on the situation.
And during a courtesy call on Chief MUMBA of the Kaonde speaking People in Mumbwa, the Minister learnt that the riotous behaviour was mostly attributed to criminality exacerbated by land disputes.
CHIEF MUMBA told the Minister that some headmen and Council workers have been grabbing land from villagers and indiscriminately selling to businessmen.
